Neptune Companies Employee Handbook

Brief

Neptune Companies, like many companies, had an employee handbook outlining policy, culture and legal information. The problem? It was a 70+ page text document that absolutely no one was interested in looking at.

I was tasked with designing this employee handbook as a means to communicate our company’s core beliefs and policies to current employees and new hires in a more engaging way.

I took this as an opportunity to introduce a new company mascot, King Neptune, as sort of a “tour guide” that will take your hand and walk you through the employee handbook step by step with comic book inspired word balloons. Along with the application of our branding and the injection of some humor, this resulted in a much better user experience and higher employee engagement.
